Boarding

If you’re planning a vacation and can’t bring your family pet along, we offer safe, reliable pet boarding services for our established clients with pets who are up to date on their vaccinations and preventative care. This service is available on a first come, first serve basis.  Since we are also a pet hospital, we do give preference to our patients with special medical needs.

With highly trained and knowledgeable staff, your pet will receive the quality care that they deserve.  Our staff adheres to strict handling, cleanliness, and safety guidelines so your pet is in trusted hands. As an added benefit, we do have veterinary staff on hand to take care of any health related issues that may occur while you are away. While these occurrences are rare, you can rest assured knowing that your pet is safe and sound.

Boarding your pet with us includes:

  • Personal  kennels
  • Secluded or group play time for your pet
  • Specialized care for diabetic and special needs pets

Boarding specifications

  • Bedding – We prefer that pet beds are left at home. Unfortunately some pets resort to chewing their bed or have accidents in their kennel when suffering from separation anxiety. For comfort, we do provide beds and blankets during your pet’s stay that can be easily laundered.  To help with anxiety, consider bringing an old piece of clothing that you have worn recently that we can leave in the kennel with your pet.
  • Feeding – Pets will be fed 2-3 times per day depending on your specifications. We recommend that you supply your pets regular diet for their stay to prevent gastrointestinal upset from an abrupt food change. Fresh water is constantly available to pets.
  • Medications – If your pet needs medication(s) administered, please let our staff know upon scheduling your stay, and we will inform you if any additional charges are required.
  • Play Time – When given your consent, pets will be allowed access to our fenced yard for play and exercise. Before being allowed access to the yard, we require all animals to have a negative fecal test for intestinal parasites.  This prevents our yard from becoming contaminated and the spread of parasites to other patients.
  • Toys – You are allowed to bring pet toys with you for your pet’s stay and we encourage it! To prevent confusion, we ask that you write your last name on each toy so at the end of your pet’s stay the toys can be returned to the correct owner.
  • Vaccinations – All pets are required to have an up-to-date rabies and distemper vaccinations. It is especially important for dogs to have had a current Kennel Cough vaccination since this infection is very readily transmitted in a boarding situation. Our veterinarians can administer vaccinations if you let us know when scheduling your pet’s boarding that vaccination is necessary. Keep in mind that all vaccinations require at least 10 days to stimulate immunity, so for your pets protection, we recommend that you take care of these prior to boarding.
